A data visualization project exploring what factors contribute to a movie’s success — including genre, budget, revenue, and ratings — using a dataset of 6,820 films released between 1986 and 2016.
Created as part of my Data Visualization module at the National College of Ireland.
The project analyzes a Kaggle dataset published by Daniel Grijalva to answer:
- What genres dominated cinema across four decades?
- Which countries and directors produce the most successful films?
- How do IMDb ratings, revenue, and budget correlate?
- Which actors have the highest success rate by genre?
- Tableau – for visualization and dashboard creation
- Excel (.xlsx) – for cleaning and transformation
